Making Lavender-Lemon cookies with fresh lavender from the yard… Post to come!
We can remember the past without it plaguing us. My past will always be a part of who I am. It will always be something that helped me to become me. For that, I am thankful. Yet, every time I recall something from my past, or allow something to remind me of a darker time, I tend to allow myself to become the person I was at that time.
Slowly, I’m learning to observe and identify, but not judge. Just take notice of a reaction or response, or what emotion has been brought up. But simply recalling a time we’d rather not go back to, or identifying with a feeling that marked our former selves, does not make us the people we once were.
We need our own histories in order to be whole. It’s what makes us who we are, but it doesn’t have to define us. We are a sum total of our experiences. Nothing more. Nothing less.
And with that… GOODNIGHT! 🙂
